Meet the Housr Team

Housr emerged from a pressing issue that I, like every other student, encountered during the first year – the abrupt transition from the sheltered environment of university halls to the challenging terrain of the private rental market. Realising the absence of a comprehensive solution, Housr was conceived as an all-in-one platform catering to every student housing requirement, facilitating everything from property searches to viewing bookings and rental agreement signings. As the CEO of Housr, I am dedicated to facilitating seamless operations and devising strategies that propel Housr to the forefront of an otherwise outdated market. Housr is rapidly emerging as one of the most disruptive forces in the industry, fostering a vibrant community that relies on the app for all their housing, bill management, discount, and event needs. At Housr, we ensure our community is comprehensively supported in every step they take beyond their living space.

Frustrated with the laborious nature of Student Housing back when I was a Fresher at University, I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a student-friendly mobile app to help students through this process. After discussing the issue with Harry over a beer, Housr was born. A graduate in History, I quickly pivoted into becoming a Software Engineer and spent some time in industry before becoming Housr’s CTO. Housr is my first venture, and what a learning curve it has been! I’m thoroughly enjoying every second, and I’m incredibly excited about our rapidly expanding future.

I am committed to nurturing team growth, optimising processes, and propelling revenue generation, I specialise in devising and implementing enduring growth strategies with unwavering determination. I am currently bringing our Student app to the USA as President of Housr, previously I was the CRO at Mailprotector, EVP Sales & Board member at Acronis and CEO of intY, a global cloud distributor. I led the company to successive years of double digit, YoY growth before a successful sale in 2019.

I am a versatile professional with a background in finance, audit, marketing, and sales, having worked with industry leaders like Dyson, NHS, and Bruntwood. I began my journey at Housr as the Head of Sales and have since progressed to the role of Head of Operations, overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the company. With my keen eye for detail and extensive experience in these diverse fields, I play a pivotal role in ensuring Housr’s success. My strategic mindset, coupled with a strong work ethic, drives efficiency and innovation in our operations.

I embarked on my journey with Housr, an innovative company at the forefront of revolutionising the rental market, two years ago while pursuing my degree at the University. What initially began as an opportunity to gain practical experience quickly transformed into a full-time commitment upon my graduation. As the Head of User Acquisition, I have assumed the pivotal responsibility of the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives for Housr.

I joined the Housr team as a Senior Software Engineer from THG at the start of October, having spent 3 years there as a Software Engineer after graduating from the University of Manchester with a Master’s in Maths. I hope to bring new experience and ideas to the development team over the coming years to help fast-track Housr’s journey to revolutionising the student housing industry.

Having previous experience with the start-up world after my own ventures, I was approached by Housr and saw a great opportunity to get back into the high octane world of start-up. I’m now part of the team as a Software Engineer and everyday has been a rollercoaster of experiences. We have been growing rapidly and I am grateful to be part of the early team that has developed the software and company to where it is now.

I officially began my journey with Housr in September 2023. Prior to joining the team, I worked as a letting agent for one of our existing partners. As I delved deeper into understanding the company, I was enthusiastic about becoming a part of this exciting journey to help propel it to new heights. Currently, I hold the position of Birmingham Regional City Lead. In this role, I am responsible for onboarding new partners and providing support to our existing partners and tenants. I’m dedicated to driving Housr’s expansion and enhancing its services, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this dynamic team.

I started my Housr journey as a recent graduate in Economics from University. Joining initially as an operations executive intern after just one month, I transitioned into a data analyst intern role. I joined the team full-time in January 2024 as data & operations executive and my role is to interpret in house data, provide each department with business performance insights and business strategies for informed decision making whilst working alongside other departments helping with the day-to-day running of the business. I am looking forward to continuing to grow my knowledge of the industry alongside the rest of the team, and I am excited to continue my journey with Housr to see what can be achieved throughout 2024 and beyond.

I’m Patrick and I’m in my final year of Economics and International relations at the University of Birmingham. I really enjoy my university life, sports, having a good time with my mates, and also have high aspirations for my working life. That’s why I love working here at Housr, a growing company of individuals with mindsets of success… who can also enjoy a beer in their spare time.

I came across Housr during attending one of the many events Housr hosts. I’ve always had a real passion and eye for content creation and social media and I love that working for Housr allows me to explore my creativity, as well as working in such a collaborative team. Promoting the app to fellow students has helped me broaden my horizons and confidence and I’m so exited for what the future holds at Housr!

I am a student in my third year studying Natural Sciences at the University of Birmingham, majoring in Maths. Once I graduate I am looking to work in finance. I have been working as a brand ambassador at Housr since October and really enjoy working with so many motivated people.

I have recently started my journey at Housr as a Manchester Brand Ambassador alongside studying for my degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. Being a part of the team at Housr is always a dynamic and exciting experience. My day to day responsibilities as a Brand Ambassador include making content for the social media channels and raising awareness for the app at events.

I first connected with the Housr team during my second year at the University of Manchester. After discussing the ‘tinder for student housing’ concept and CEO Harry’s vision for the business, I was immediately drawn to the idea. While initially envisioning working with Housr post-graduation, I found myself selling bills on commission. Given the promising prospects for growth within Housr, I transitioned to the role of lead brand ambassador in Manchester, collaborating with a team in Birmingham to implement the ‘on the ground’ marketing strategy and expand our student outreach, all with the goal of revolutionising student rentals.

Im Octavia, I’m an international business student and lead content Brand Ambassador for Birmingham. I aspire to work on an international scale and travel working in risk management and finance. Housr has provided me the opportunity to develop key communication and social media marketing skills that I will carry with me after university.

I’m Harley, a 21-year-old student, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with Housr for nearly three months as the Social Media Executive. What excites me most about this dynamic startup is its unwavering dedication to revolutionising the student rental market, a mission I resonate with. In my role, I blend my passion for design with my commitment to enhancing the student experience, crafting engaging visuals that bring our brand to life and connect with our audience. It’s a thrilling journey, and I look forward to continuing to create, inspire, and learn together with Housr.

I joined Housr in October 2023 as a Junior Software Engineer. My background is in Civil Engineering, and I spent a few years in that field. However, my true passion was always in Software Engineering. Housr felt like the perfect opportunity for my career change. I was drawn to the company’s vision and business model and its innovative approach to student housing. I’m looking forward to contributing to Housr’s success and making a strong impact.
